Jailbreak iPhone 2G 3G 3GS 3.1.2 on Windows Custom Firmware

Step One : Download the custom firmware and place to your desktop. These custom firmware are Jailbreaked and contains Cydia for using the full potential of jailbreaking.

Step Two : Put your iPhone in Recovery mode by following instructions.
- Turn the device completely off and disconnect it from cable/dock.
- Hold down the home button.
- While holding down the home button connect to a computer with a cable (easiest) or dock.
- Keep holding down the home button until you see a connect-to-iTunes screen You are now in recovery mode.
Step Three : Launch iTunes, hold the shift key and then hit Restore button. For Mac hold Option key on your Mac and then hit the restore button. Make sure to hit the restore button.In the dialog box that pops up, browse the downloaded custom firmware file and let iTunes do it's job. Once the upgrade is finished you haven't need to jailbreak it again since it was already jailbroken.
Q: What's the difference between activated and unactivated custom firmware? Which one should i use?
A: If you use offical carrier then you should use the UNACTIVATED custom firmware. If you are using other sim cards ( not the official carrier sim cards ) should use the ACTIVATED custom firmware

Just to make sure i avoid questions regarding the use of this custom firmwares:
- Turn off your iPhone.
- Hold down the power and home button.
- When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
- Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.
Alternative Method:
- Connect iphone to USB then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.
- Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.
- Wait until you hear another sound then release home button
